The Lincoln County School District is a rural, community-based school system that merges available resources to provide a sound education for all students. School system staff believe that all students can learn if provided adequate time and resources. A high percentage of professional staff (60%) hold a Master's Degree or higher and are experienced, seasoned educators. Many teachers and principals have taken advantage of numerous staff development opportunities to support student achievement.
Lincoln County has four elementary schools, four middle schools, and one high school. Some of the schools operate ESEA Title 1 Schoolwide Programs, which ensure extra staff and resources so that no child is left behind; numerous additional programs and grants also provide extra academic opportunities and support. The county currently implements the Effective Schools Program at the high school, based on the seven effective schools correlates that focus on school reform.
