Rodney "Rowdy" Baker
Rodney Baker was born in January 1969 and graduated from Guyan Valley High School in 1987. He graduated from Marshall University in 1991 with a Bachelor in Business Administration and from the WVU College of Law in 1995 with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree. Rodney was employed by Huddleston Bolen LLP from 1995 through 2015 and is currently employed by Steptoe & Johnson PLLC.
Rodney has three children in the Lincoln County School System, two at LCHS and one at Guyan Valley Middle. He decided to apply for a vacant seat on the Lincoln County Board of Education because he did not want to be a person that sits on the sideline and criticizes the educational opportunities available to his children. Instead, he prefers to be actively involved in attempting to make sure the school system maximizes the opportunities that are available to all children in Lincoln County. Mr. Baker has been on the Board of Education since January 2014. He believes that his age, education and profession bring unique qualities and viewpoints to the Board. He strives to make completely unbiased decisions that bring about the most good to the greatest number of students.
Mr. Baker’s hobbies include active involvement in both attending and coaching children’s sporting activities, camping with his children, ATV and dirt bike riding, ATV racing, as well as hunting.
